Registering your mobile number verifies who is using the SIM or eSIM. Telkomsel and other Indonesian mobile providers require subscriber registration. Foreign visitors use their passport or other accepted immigration identification.
IMEI registration concerns the phone itself. Indonesia controls access to local cellular networks for phones brought from overseas. Under the government’s rules, foreign tourists using an Indonesian SIM can register through a mobile operator for temporary network access of up to 90 days. Longer stays may require the Customs IMEI registration process, with applicable requirements and import obligations. A 60- or 90-day data package does not automatically extend your phone’s IMEI eligibility.
Install your eSIM and submit the requested passport and device IMEI details through our secure KYC form. eSIM BaliEasy helps verify your details and arrange the applicable operator registration. Tell us if your phone was bought overseas or your visit will exceed 90 days.
