Can’t Make or Receive Calls on Your Bali Telkomsel eSIM? Here’s Why & What to Do

Calls on a Telkomsel Bali eSIM may not work because some eSIMs or devices are mainly designed for data, and your local Telkomsel number may still be finishing its activation.

Free call minutes (for example, 25 minutes) only apply to calls within Indonesia, not to international numbers.

Why Calls May Not Work on a Bali eSIM

What to Do

1) Test the line

• Dial *888# or try calling a local Indonesian number.
• This confirms whether the voice service is active.

2) Restart your phone

• A simple restart often completes network provisioning after activation.

3) Make sure the eSIM is active

• Check that the Telkomsel eSIM is ON and has signal.

4) Set the eSIM as your preferred line for calls

• iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Default Voice Line → select the Telkomsel eSIM
• Android: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Calls → select the Telkomsel eSIM

5) Turn Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds, then OFF

• This forces the device to re-register with the local network.
